In 2008, the investment firm Petercam appointed Phil Akashi to create some artworks for their headquarters in Brussels. For this commissioned project, the artist designed coffee tables with African banana stems. This project is called "Africabanana" and is part of the Bank Degroof Petercam Art Collection. The coffee tables are visible for customers at the reception of the Bank Degroof Petercam private banking activities. Bank Degroof and Petercam joined forces in 2015.
